First, we want to acknowledge our heroes working in service of our mission. As our staff remains in the field during this pandemic, our office staff took a few moments to say thank you to our clinical team members who are serving on the front lines.

Because of our generous donors, we were able to exceed our goal of $50,000 for our Stronger With You campaign to combat the financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and to continue our vital work.

The importance of philanthropy as part of our nonprofit mission cannot be overstated, particularly during the unforeseen difficulties of this year. As we know, COVID-19 put all of us off balance, and although the immediate crisis in our state of Connecticut has passed, we are now learning how to safely live, for what all indications are will be a lengthy term in the presence of this virus. As we anticipate a potential second wave, we are also focused on a hopeful recovery phase as we incorporate what we’ve learned so far on this journey into a new way of operating and of life.

While we all diligently work to suppress the spread of COVID-19, our patients remain vulnerable as their diagnoses put them at increased risk. The majority of the patients we see have multiple diagnoses that put them at high-risk for complications of this virus, including diabetes, heart and lung diseases.

We will continue to keep these patients out of the hospital to limit their potential exposure to COVID-19, we will continue to treat COVID-19 survivors discharged to home health services, and we will continue to take all necessary precautions to keep our staff and those in our care safe.

We are proud to be a critical piece of the recovery puzzle.

With your support, we were able to raise an amazing $56,000 during our five-month campaign from an incredible 318 generous individuals and businesses who came together to back our mission. We also received a $25,000 grant from the Community
Foundation for Greater New Haven, as well as $5,000 grants from the Guilford Foundation and the Branford Community Foundation. Additionally, many individuals made donations of masks, PPE and cleaning supplies. Local companies such as BIC Corporation and Nautical Needles donated hundreds of masks and face shields to our front line staff.

We have treated more than 2,000 home health patients and 177 Hospice patients since the onset of the pandemic in March, including more than 80 who were COVID positive, and were able to sustain the quality of our services and needed supplies in that process as a result of the generosity of many.

Thank you also to The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven for running a wonderful Great Give 2020 which helped us raise $6,000 for our campaign in just 72 hours.
