VNA Community Healthcare & Hospice offers many opportunities to help you improve your health, prevent illnesses and keep you independent. From group exercise classes, personalized blood pressure checks and nurse health coaching, to clinics and cholesterol screening, VNA Community Healthcare & Hospice‘s team of professional nurses will help you design a personalized wellness program. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made adjustments to our programs to offer as much as possible virtually to meet the needs of our clients while keeping everyone safe at home.
“Ask the Nurse” Clinics
Our Wellness Nurses are always available to assess your health and work with you to set healthy lifestyle goals. They can also review your medications, discuss side effects and interactions, plus give you tools and tips on how you can prepare for an upcoming physician visit. If you need your blood pressure or other vitals checked, an appointment may be made in our Guilford or Hamden office on a case-by case basis. Visit our calendar to see the available times for Ask the Nurse visits. To schedule an appointment, call our Helpline.
Getting the flu can take a big bite out of your time and energy, not to mention lost work time. This year in particular, with the added risk of exposure to COVID-19, it’s important to protect yourself from the flu. Prevention is simple and easy – get an annual flu vaccine. VNA Community Healthcare & Hospice’s flu clinics are held September through December throughout our 36-town service area. Injections are given by experienced nurses and vaccines are covered by Medicare, Medicare HMOs and most insurance plans. Click here to see dates, times and locations or public clinics.
