Parkinson’s Exercise Class, Live Zoom Class

Fitness and Movement Basics, Live Zoom Class


$15 for series

This 45-minute class features chair exercises that are appropriate for people with mobility challenges. This class provides exercises which focus on muscular strength, range of motion, agility and balance, and cardio. This gently paced program will focus on activities that can be accomplished while seated and will conclude with a stretch and relaxation segment. To register, click here.

Functional Cardio & Fitness, Live Zoom Class


$15 for the series.

This 45-minute class is for fit active older adults with a robust activity level and prior fitness experience. This class will provide strength training, agility, balance, coordination, range of motion and cardiovascular segments, promoting overall wellness. Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance Advanced Live Zoom Class


$30 for series

This course, formally known as Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance, is an evidence-based fall prevention program aimed at improving strength, balance, mobility and daily functioning to prevent falls in older adults and individuals with balance disorders. This therapeutic regimen improves posture and awareness and mindful control of body positioning, as well as coordination. To register, click here.

Dance yourself to good health. Low-impact for all fitness levels; perfect for the senior population, postpartum individuals and those recovering from injuries. Chair Yoga for Pain Free Living


$90 for series

This digital series has been designed for all levels and ages with safety in mind. You’ll learn classic yoga postures and therapeutic movements to keep your joints mobile and keep you out of pain with the use of a chair. Improve your breathing, learn tools to help ease tension, calm the mind and reap the benefits of improved flexibility. Short and effective classes will run 30 minutes in length. Senior Boot Camp


$23 for series

For those 50 and older who need to increase muscle strength and improve flexibility. Dodge Diabetes


$85 for series

Months 1 to 4, classes meet weekly
Months 5 to 6 classes meet every other week
Months 7 to 12 classes meet once per month

Class will be held virtually via Zoom with a potential for in-person, socially distanced meetings in our Hamden Program Room and Guilford Wellness Center once it is deemed safe to do so. Dodge Diabetes follows the Center for Disease Control & Prevention’s Prevent T2 curriculum, a research based program. This program is supported by grant funding from the Guilford Health Department, Preventative Health & Health Services Block Grant and the CT Department of Public Health. In times like these, it is important to find ways to connect with others and do what we can to maintain a sense of normalcy to any extent possible.
These meetings are not only open to those who have attended our Family Caregiver Support Groups in the past, but they are open to new members who may be finding themselves facing new caregiving challenges during this time of social distancing.
