Nightingale 2015 Nursing Awards

VNA Community Healthcare & Hospice is proud to announce that visiting nurses Tracy Iasparra RN, Regina Lanouette RN and Janice Rosenberg RN are each recipients of the prestigious 2015 Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing.

The Nightingale Awards was developed by Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut to honor RNs and LPNs (full or part-time) who demonstrate excellence. Nurses are nominated for recognition by their employers if they are involved in clinical practice, leadership, scholarship and/or education.

tracyTracy quickly took to home care nursing and demonstrates skills by engaging patients and providing patient centered care. Tracy manages a heavy case load of acute patients. She is a pleasure to work with and is well respected by her peers. Tracy has been widely recognized for her work with complex patients. One patient stated how vulnerable, weak, and helpless she felt during her sudden illness and surgery and she commented that Tracy was attentive, extremely supportive and helped her “morale and body heal”. Over the past 2 years, Tracy has helped a young, paralyzed man overcome many physical challenges and psychological hurdles.
Her connection with patients is a charm that brings with it positive outcomes.

regina_lanouetteRegina demonstrates compassion, empathy and a gregarious spirit. She listens to her patient’s concerns, acknowledge their problems, and takes action. Regina is certified in Integrated Chronic Care Management, and utilizes Motivational Interviewing regularly to develop self-management skills in her patient’s, allowing them to set long term goals and to achieve great outcomes. This year, Regina had a patient that was transitioned to short term rehabilitation. During her stay, Regina would visit her on her own personal time for hours to make her feel special.

janice_rosenbergJanice is a solid advocate for her patients. She goes the extra mile to see her patients get the best care. Janice braved our last snow storm to see a patient who was not her own. Janice quietly cares for her patients. Her patients speak highly of her caring, competent work. They often request Janice if they or one of their family had her before.
Janice is a shining star of what a home health care nurse should be.

The Nightingale Awards will be presented on May 6th at Anthony’s Ocean View restaurant.
